Our Support Continues for Displaced Families

On August 31, 2025, a 6.0 earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan—devastating communities across Kunar and surrounding provinces. Homes were destroyed, families displaced, and access to basic services cut off.

In the immediate aftermath, we supported Afghan-led mobile medical teams, including an all-female team, reaching over 3,600 people with urgent care.

After the initial aftermath, global attention shifted, but community needs remained.

7 months later, together with our partner COAR, we returned to support female-headed households.

Cash support puts decision-making in the hands of women—enabling them to meet their families’ needs with dignity.

This is what sustained response looks like: showing up in the immediate aftermath, and continuing to stand alongside communities long after the headlines fade.
